Missoula, Mont. — June was recognized as Aphasia Awareness Month in Montana as advocates in Missoula worked to connect stroke survivors with support and treatment.
SHREVEPORT, La. — During Stroke Awareness Month, KTBS 3 is partnering with Willis-Knighton Health to educate the community on recognizing stroke symptoms and acting quickly. Medical experts emphasize that rapid response can make a life-saving difference.“If you have an acute stroke, the reason to go quickly is that we can actually do things for stroke,” said Dr. Richard Jacobson, noting certain treatments must be administered within just a few hours.Doctors urge the public to remember the “BE FAST” warning signs and to call 911 immediately if symptoms appear, ensuring patients receive care as quickly as possible.
