SHREVEPORT, La. — TK's Tavern is celebrating 20 years in business, marking two decades as a gathering place for pool players from across the Ark-La-Tex. Since opening in 2006, the Shreveport pool hall has become known for hosting weekly leagues and tournaments while producing players who have earned national pool titles. Owner Tina Grosjean said reaching the 20-year milestone is both rewarding and humbling. "It doesn't feel like it's been 20 years," Grosjean said. "It just feels like yesterday I opened it. It kind of humbles you when you think I've been here 20 years." Grosjean said she built the business around creating a welcoming atmosphere where players of all skill levels feel like they belong. "When you come in here and you're new and you don't know anyone, we get to know you and we make you part of this family," she said. "It hasn't always been easy, but it was worth it." Grosjean has been playing pool since 1998, when her father first taught her the game. She said that passion eventually inspired her to open TK's Tavern, where she continues to compete while sharing her love of the sport with others.
