(The Center Square) – Southwestern Wisconsin is seeing more measles cases after the Wisconsin Department of Health Services announced two new measles cases in Grant County.

The New Mexico Department of Health announced this week that an unvaccinated adult in southeastern New Mexico tested positive for measles, marking the state’s 18th case this year as the U.S. sees its highest number of cases in more than three decades.

A report earlier this week of a couple of measles cases in Southwest Wisconsin has turned into an outbreak, with 13 more confirmed cases and six probable cases of the viral illness, the state health department reported Thursday.
