The Mizzou baseball team will be in search of a new hitting coach for the 2027 season after the departure of Bryson LeBlanc, a Tigers assistant for the past three years.
According to original reports from Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball on Tuesday, LeBlanc will not be returning to the team next season. KOMU sports director Aaron Ladd confirmed the news with a team spokesman.
The decision to part ways comes after a season in which Mizzou batted just .226 in conference play collectively, rounding out the bottom of the SEC with 25 home runs.
This season showed only minimal improvement from previous years under LeBlanc. The Tigers ended with a .230 team average and 24 home runs in 2025 across conference play and .221 with 21 homers in 2024.
The Tigers managed just five hits and two runs in the season-ending, run-rule loss to Mississippi State in the SEC Tournament.
LeBlanc is a Mizzou alum who played on the highly successful teams of 2005 and 2006 as an outfielder. He played in 38 games in 2005 and had a .742 OPS. The 2005 team boasted 40 wins, and the 2006 team secured the first super regional berth in program history.
In his time as a coach, he has helped to develop players at Oregon, UC Riverside, UC San Diego and Mizzou. He aided in the development of 47 players who were taken in the draft collectively, including Tiger shortstop Jackson Lovich, who was drafted last year by the Yankees and has gotten off to a hot start in their minor league system this season.
LeBlanc was one of the initial hires by current head coach Kerrick Jackson in the summer of 2023.
