Missouri freshman wide receiver Jabari Brady was carted off the practice field Wednesday after he leaped to make a catch. Brady was limping with the help of trainers before one came to retrieve him with the cart.

Brady was carted off during the final period of practice open to the media, so it’s unknown if he returned to practice.

A 6-foot-1, 212-pound receiver, Brady was a three-star prospect out of Monarch High School in Coconut Creek, Florida. He chose Missouri over Georgia, Ohio State and others.

The first few weeks of the season could be especially valuable to Brady, as that's when he would be most likely to earn playing time in his debut season.

Brady’s exit came in the middle of a drill in which receivers were going up one-on-one against defensive backs on fade and outside flat routes. The play Brady made was impressive, as he jumped over the back of freshman cornerback Ahmod Billins on a fade route to the end zone.

Receivers, defensive backs spar in drill

The drill started with Donovan Olugbode making an impressive adjustment to haul in a catch behind cornerback Nicholas DeLoach Jr. on a flat route near the sideline. Shaun Terry made a catch on the same route with safety Santana Banner in coverage.

In just about all the reps, the physicality of the defensive backs stood out. Freshman cornerback Jaxson Gates had a nice pass breakup when defending Kenric Lanier II. STAR Kensley Louidor-Faustin used his hands to deflect a pass when defending a fade route. And though he allowed Lanier to make a catch over the middle, Nasir Pogue did a good job of laying a thump at the catch point.

Earlier in the practice, the team ran through two-point conversions. In that drill, Missouri continued to rotate through different defensive back lineups, as it has throughout fall practices. Oregon transfer Jahlil Florence and Deloach were in the first lineup, while Oregon transfer Sione Laulea and junior Cameron Keys were with the second. These personnel decisions could’ve been specific to the situation.

Wednesday was the last day of fall practice that will be open to the media. Coach Eli Drinkwitz is set to speak to the media Saturday to give his final thoughts on the preseason.
