NEW ORLEANS — Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is at the center of a grand jury investigation in New Orleans.
An Orleans Parish grand jury is reportedly looking into the attorney general's actions related to a dispute over the Orleans Parish clerk of court position.
Multiple witnesses have already testified before the grand jury.
The investigation reportedly stems from letters Murrill sent to New Orleans city leaders. Those letters warned of possible legal consequences if city leaders moved forward with appointing a competing clerk of court.
