SHREVEPORT, La. — Caddo Parish commissioners decided against pursuing temporary workforce housing regulations during a Special Projects Committee meeting Monday.

The discussion centered on concerns surrounding incoming data center construction workers and temporary housing developments, commonly known as man camps.

Parish Administrator Ericka Bryant informed the committee that conducting a master plan, which is required to establish zoning restrictions, would cost up to $600,000.

Commissioner Ken Epperson pushed back against new regulations, stating that adequate housing already exists within the parish for visiting workers.

Following the discussion, committee members confirmed that the workforce housing proposal will not be discussed again in the Special Projects Committee.
