SHREVEPORT, La. — One of Shreveport's largest employers hosted a special Feed the Badge appreciation lunch for local first responders and law enforcement Thursday.
Calumet treated emergency personnel from around the area to the meal, with more than 500 first responders expected to attend. Company officials said the gathering offered a chance to thank local heroes face-to-face.
"It's appreciation. Throughout the year, we train together. We might have an event. We want to make sure that everybody's comfortable with each other," said Lyndon B. Johnson, community and government relations specialist. "They know who we are. We know who they are. And we just want to make sure that we keep you safe. And we can hear if they have some needs or something, that we can hear about it, and we can see how we can help them with it."
