SHREVEPORT, La. — The inmate who died Tuesday while in custody at the Caddo Correctional Center has been identified as Glen Mazier, the former Greenwood police chief who was arrested last week on child sex crime charges.
Mazier, 75, was found unresponsive in his cell and was transported to Willis-Knighton Medical Center on Greenwood Road, where he was pronounced dead at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday. An autopsy conducted by the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office concluded that Mazier died of natural causes, with no indications of foul play.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is handling further inquiries regarding the death.
