TEXARKANA, Texas - The pop culture festival expo Hypecon was a three-day event this weekend at the Canvas Special Events Center.

"Hypecon" stands for Helping Youth Progress Every Day, and its creator, Darby Tillis, said its mission is to offer more fun to young people, while helping local youth nonprofits that champion Texarkana.

The event featured autographs of heroes and wrestling legends on Friday.

Guests experienced the entire Hypecon experience on Saturday, showcasing wrestling, multiple video tournaments, vendors and cosplay competitions.

Sunday wrapped up with a slow, smooth hype, said Tillis.

"We donate so many tickets and money towards youth nonprofits from boy scouts to orphanages, to We Are Washington, to The Scholars."

Other Hypecon events include the Spring Awakening and Fall Viking Festivals, the Four States Tattoo Expos, consistent indoor and outdoor wrestling, esports and tournaments.
