SHREVEPORT, La. — The Krewe of Gemini is preparing to officially launch its 38th Mardi Gras season with its annual coronation, where the krewe’s newest royalty will be revealed during an evening of celebration and tradition.

“This is where I get to announce my royalty. That’s always a secret with Krewe of Gemini, and I’m excited to reveal who my people are,” said Krewe of Gemini Captain Patrick Gallagher.

The coronation, set for Saturday at Live! Casino & Hotel, marks the beginning of the krewe’s Mardi Gras season and introduces the king, queen, and royal court who will represent Gemini throughout the year.

Gallagher says the event is one of the most anticipated traditions of the season and encourages anyone interested in Mardi Gras to get involved with the krewe.

The celebration will take place from 6:30 to 11 p.m., kicking off another year of Mardi Gras festivities in Northwest Louisiana.
