SHREVEPORT, La. — Hundreds of local students are better prepared for the upcoming school year following a drive-thru backpack giveaway held Friday afternoon.
The event, hosted by the law firm Rice & Kendig, provided free backpacks and essential school supplies to families throughout the community. To ensure the materials reached those intended, organizers required children to be present in their vehicles during the drive-thru distribution.
The giveaway was designed to alleviate the financial burden on local families and help students begin the academic year with the tools necessary for success in the classroom.
