SHREVEPORT, La. - People across Louisiana helped feed those in need this weekend during the annual Clean Out Your Freezer Day.
The event, coordinated by Hunters for the Hungry, is held before hunting season to encourage hunters and others to donate frozen food from their freezers.
There was a steady stream of donations Sunday at the drop-off location at Smith Family Farms North in Bossier City.
People who were unable to donate Sunday can still drop off properly packaged frozen food this week at the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana in Shreveport.
Donations will be accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
