LOUISIANA — Louisiana Public Broadcasting will showcase the inspirational stories and community achievements of seven local high school students during a new half-hour television special, "Louisiana Young Heroes 2026."

The program is scheduled to premiere next Friday at 8 p.m. on the statewide LPB network and on WLAE-TV in New Orleans. Following the broadcast debut, the special will be available for on-demand streaming on the LPB website and the network's YouTube channel.

Marking its 30th anniversary, the Louisiana Young Heroes initiative celebrates outstanding students from across the state for their academic accomplishments, community service and positive leadership.

The seven honorees for the class are:

  • Jaden Armstrong of Baton Rouge, a senior at Liberty Magnet High School

  • Marleigh Auzenne of Lafayette, a sophomore at Early College Academy

  • Andrew Chambers of New Iberia, a junior at Loreauville High School

  • Charlotte Gomes of New Orleans, a senior at Benjamin Franklin High School

  • John Parker of Bush, a junior at Covington High School

  • Maylie Stanley of Glenmora, a senior at Pineville High School

  • Brooklynn Warner of Ponchatoula, a junior at Hammond High Magnet School
