GILMER, Texas - Two horses were rescued in Harrison County suffering from neglect and malnutrition.

According to Save Haven Equine Rescue, it was called to assist the sheriff's office in seizing the mares.

The rescue took the horses to a quarantine area and will do a "complete assessment."

According to its Facebook post, the rescue says the "horses are just happy to have some water and something to eat."

It asks for prayers of health and safety for the horses. The rescue also asked for donations to support its mission. You can donate directly on its Facebook page.
