NATCHITOCHES, La. — Natchitoches Parish employees will see noticeable changes to the district dress code this year following board approval of updates aimed at promoting professionalism and modernizing standards.
Under the new policy, staff members are permitted to wear blue jeans every Friday without paying a fee. The update also lifts previous restrictions regarding visible tattoos for local educators.
However, the board implemented new restrictions based on safety concerns. The policy now includes a ban on Crocs and similar open footwear for all staff. Officials stated that slip-resistant shoes are necessary to prevent accidents in school cafeterias and on stairways.
