NEW BOSTON, Texas — A Bowie County jury has sentenced a 56-year-old New Boston man to 800 years in prison for repeatedly abusing multiple children, including his own daughters.
Horace Colbert was convicted on 40 counts of sexual assault of a child following a trial that detailed decades of abuse. The judge handed down the maximum 20-year sentence for each count, ordering them to be served consecutively.
Prosecutors stated the horrific abuse spanned multiple decades and involved several victims before coming to light and resulting in the landmark sentence.
