SHREVEPORT, La. - A suspect is in custody after leading Shreveport police on a chase and firing at officers Saturday.
According to the Shreveport Police Department, officers responded to the 500 block of Boulevard Street after a caller reported a possible domestic violence incident.
Officers arrived and were told the suspect was leaving the area in a vehicle. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped away, leading officers on a pursuit.
The chase ended at Knight Street and Preston Street when the suspect crashed the vehicle.
According to police, the suspect got out of the vehicle and fired at officers who returned fire.
No officers, the suspect or any members of the public were injured.
Police said bullets hit the nearby YMCA but the building was closed at the time with no one inside.
The suspect was taken into custody without injury.
The officer who fired his weapon has been placed on standard administrative review.
The suspect's identity will be released after the booking process is complete.
