MONROE, La. - Shelby Bordelon was crowned Miss Louisiana 2026 on Saturday, emerging victorious from a field of 30 contestants competing for scholarships and the opportunity to represent the state on the national stage.

The annual competition concluded at the Monroe Civic Center's W.L. "Jack" Howard Theatre following preliminary rounds held Thursday and Friday.

Contestants were evaluated in interview, talent and evening wear categories.

Organizers said this year's contestants represented communities across Louisiana and were recognized for achievements in academics, leadership, community service and stage performance.

As Miss Louisiana 2026, Bordelon will serve as an ambassador for the state throughout the coming year and will advance to represent Louisiana at the Miss America competition.
