SHREVEPORT, La. — The Shreveport Fire Department is set to receive a new specialized training tower following a vote by the Shreveport City Council Tuesday.

The council authorized Mayor Tom Arceneaux to execute a contract with WHP Training Towers to construct the facility. According to city officials, the tower is intended to provide firefighters with specialized training on-site.

The move aims to enhance the department's preparation and response capabilities by providing a dedicated space for drills and simulations within the city.
