SHREVEPORT, La. – For the second time in a month, Shreveport dentist John Allen Russ, 37, has been arrested for domestic abuse and child endangerment.
His arrest Monday morning happened in Caddo District Court while Russ was attending a custody hearing with his first wife. The charges stem from an alleged beating of a former spouse in April 2023 in Bossier Parish that was reported to the sheriff’s office in June.
Russ was also arrested on Oct. 4 by Shreveport police for an alleged battery of a former girlfriend on May 4. In that case, Russ was charged with domestic abuse battery with strangulation, domestic abuse battery with serious bodily injury, violation of a protective order and two counts of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.
His bond was set at $125,000. He bonded out the same day.
Russ was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center Monday on the new charges out of Bossier City. Tuesday morning, Russ was moved to the Bossier Maximum Correctional Facility, where he is charged with simple domestic abuse battery with child endangerment and reckless operation of a vehicle. His bond is set at $65,500.
