SHREVEPORT, La. — Shreveport police are investigating a shooting that occurred inside Mall St. Vincent just after 4 p.m. today.
According to Shreveport Police Department Corporal Chris Bordelon, officers responded to a call of shots fired and discovered that a group of individuals appeared to target a man inside the mall. Police say the suspects put on masks, confronted the man, and fired multiple shots at him. Investigators believe the targeted individual may have returned fire, and they are handling the investigation as an incident involving two shooters.
The confrontation began inside the mall, and the suspects chased the man down a hallway on the east side of the building that exits into the parking lot. Bordelon noted that most of the bullets recovered were fired down that hallway as the man was exiting.
Police are currently looking for approximately five suspects, described as Black males between the ages of 15 and 25. Investigators have located shell casings, shoes potentially linked to the dispute, and surveillance video from the area. The section of the mall where the shooting took place has been shut down to preserve evidence.
One man, who police believe was involved, was injured and drove himself to the hospital.
