TEXARKANA, Ark. — Two individuals were taken into custody Thursday evening following a high-speed police pursuit that exceeded 100 mph and ended in a vehicle collision.

The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department reported that officers attempted a traffic stop on a 2009 Chevrolet pickup around 7:20 p.m. in the 2900 block of Arkansas Boulevard following a lane violation.

The vehicle fled the scene, driving through open fields, facing oncoming traffic, and nearly striking a motorcyclist. After striking a patrol vehicle near a dead-end road, supervisors called off the primary pursuit due to vehicle damage and public safety risks.

Assisting agencies — including the Miller County Sheriff's Office and Arkansas State Police — later located the pickup on East Broad Street, where it hit with another vehicle in the 7400 block.

The occupants ran but were apprehended shortly after. Authorities identified the suspect driver as Anna Reed, 39, of Monroe, and the passenger as Kevin Martin, 47, of Maud, Texas.

Reed faces charges including felony fleeing by vehicle, two counts of felony second-degree battery, felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, two counts of felony drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor fleeing on foot.

Martin was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, two counts of felony drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor fleeing on foot.
