WYOMING — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) District 5-Northwest Wyoming announced the Beartooth Highway will close at 5 p.m. from Long Lake to the Montana/Wyoming state border because of expected snow and strong wind.
With the forecast calling for three inches of snow and wind gusts reaching 55 mph in the area, WYDOT said the weather will create unsafe conditions for drivers on Beartooth Pass.
Drivers can use the alternate route to Cooke City from the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park on WY 296 (Chief Joseph Byway).
