HELENA, MT – The Progressive Vet PAC. a largely unknown group, that contributed almost $4 million to Democratic candidate Alani Bankhead announced, they would be pulling future support.
Saying that a Democrat does not have a viable path to the United States Senate.
Via email press release they say:
“Progressive Vet PAC formed in early 2026 to combat MAGA Republicans trying to rig the Montana Democratic primary for US Senate. Unfortunately, recent polling and fundraising reports make it clear that a Democrat does not have a viable path to winning the Montana Senate seat. That’s why we are turning our attention to supporting and promoting a progressive veteran running to unseat a weak MAGA US Senator who has failed to deliver for his state: Noah Taylor. A veteran of the war in Afghanistan, Noah is fighting for Kansas families squeezed by rising grocery bills, tariffs, and property taxes and has the grit and determination to take on powerful elites, corporations, and career politicians like Roger Marshall.”
The Progressive Vet PAC. website previously showcased a small selection of other candidates they were supporting, now it only features Noah Taylor.
Polls have circulated with Bankhead trailing the Republican in the race.
NonStop Local has not seen the meta data of the poll and historically only reports on polling it owns or is given meta data of.
The PAC had listed Moffie Funk, a former democratic state house representative from Montana as its treasurer.
In a sitdown previous to this announcement with NonStop Local, Bankhead was asked about the group, she said she was initially unfamiliar with Funk and supports the Montana plan.
NonStop Local has reached out to Bankhead's team.
