HELENA, Mont. – Helena Police Department announced that its canine teams passed their annual recertification after a two day test.
The teams were evaluated in explosive detection, narcotic detection, obedience, criminal apprehension, building searches, tracking and article searches.
A certified canine instructor from Southern Police Canine of North Carolina handled the testing. The process ensured evaluations met standards for police dogs and their handlers. The recertification cleared each team for another year of service in Helena.
The accomplishment reflected the dedication and professionalism of the handlers and their dogs.
