GREAT FALLS, Mont. — Crowds are building at the Montana State Fair as people arrived for rides, food and a full schedule of events.

NonStop Local went to the fairgrounds and we saw plenty of happy faces as the energy kept picking up.

Fair goers were especially excited about the carnival rides, vendors and the wide variety of food options.

One vendor said the fair played a major role in their year.

“This by far our biggest event of the year. 10 straight days of serving amazing food is definitely a challenge but fun. But this is a really good fair, really good turnout, really good offerings here. It’s just a fantastic vibe.” Alicia Bateman, Stuffed International Cuisine owner, said.

Bateman said she had been coming to the fair for 11 years.

Fairgoers can also look forward to the Indian Horse Relay, live concerts from rock bands Third Eye Blind and Kansas and the rodeo.

The Montana State Fair is set to feature activities and events throughout its nine-day run.
