MONTANA — A scam message about free shoes is circulating and does not come from the Department of Veterans Affairs or any official VA program, Montana VA said in a release.
The agency said the message has been confirmed as a hoax and urges people to ignore it.
Montana VA also warned people not to reply or share personal information if they receive the message.
If anyone has questions about whether a message was really from the VA, the agency said they should contact the department through verified VA channels.
