A pedestrian died after being struck by an SUV on Horseshoe Road at Greenhead Road, in Horry County. The incident occurred around 8:33 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 13.
A 2016 GMC Yukon, traveling east on Horseshoe Road, hit a pedestrian who was in the road. The pedestrian was injured, taken to the hospital and later died, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The identity of the person who died has not yet been released by the Horry County Coroner's Office.
The incident remains under investigation by the SCHP.
