MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Two of the former Memphis Police Officers from the Tyre Nichols case were due in court Monday.

Desmond Mills and Emmitt Martin, the two officers who did not go to trial, were due to report Monday. Mills has entered a guilty plea; Martin was expected to plea but never did.

Desmond Mills Jr., along with four other former Memphis Police officers, has been charged with second-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping, among other charges, in the death of Tyre Nichols. WHBQ

The case against all five of the former officers is still up in the air, with their federal convictions having been vacated and no timeline ready for the retrial.

The state cases are not expected to move forward until the federal retrial is handled.
