Darling Ingredients Inc. DAR delivered a strong second quarter as improved finished-product markets, disciplined margin management and robust renewable-fuel economics lifted profitability. The company also generated substantial cash, supporting debt reduction and share repurchases.

DAR’s earnings were $2.41 per share, up sharply from 8 cents a year ago, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.45.
