Nucor Corporation NUE will invest $59 million to expand its Vulcraft Indiana manufacturing facility in St. Joe, IN, adding capabilities to produce steel grating products. The investment is expected to create 20 new full-time jobs, in addition to the more than 300 employees currently working at the facility.

The expansion will broaden Vulcraft Indiana’s product portfolio beyond steel joists, joist girders and steel decking by adding steel grating for industrial flooring, walkways, platforms and stair treads. This will allow Nucor to serve a wider range of construction and industrial applications. The facility has annual joist and deck production capacity of approximately 1.2 million tons, and the new capabilities should strengthen its position
