Walmart reported mixed profits as it steered the benefits from tariff refunds into lower pricing on products to draw in shoppers

Walmart reported mixed results Thursday, topping analyst estimates but experiencing slower US sales growth as consumers contended with lofty gasoline prices due to the US-Iran war.

The giant US retailer steered much of the benefit from US tariff refunds towards investments to attract inflation-strapped customers, who faced gasoline prices above $4 a gallon for much of the quarter.
