Whether biological men who claim to identify as women should play in girls’ sports is a matter of opinion. That individuals with XX and XY chromosomes are, respectively, female and male is not. The imbroglio resulting from WNBA Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham’s softly spoken defense of preserving women’s sports for women is endemic of the left’s hostility to facts.

Last week, Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve, who favors allowing at least some men who claim to be women to play in the WNBA, defended those who disagree. She acknowledged that pro-women demonstrators have been peaceful and did not threaten the “safe space” of others. Reeve explained that she favors allowing transwomen (biological men) in the WNBA to be “inclusive,” though she acknowledged the issues are more complicated when championships and scholarships are at stake.
