Local leaders told Democratic members of Congress that the fatal U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement shooting in Biddeford last month has left a lasting impact, with federal silence and inaction leaving the community to carry the burden.

The members of the minority party convened the hearing to collect information with the hope of spurring accountability, however the limits of Democratic oversight were underscored through demands for action that would require the cooperation of Republicans.
