MEAD, Wash. — The Spokane community has filled Mt. Spokane High School with donations for firefighters battling the Spokane Area Fires, prompting fire officials to ask residents to temporarily stop bringing bottled water and food.

Mt. Spokane High School is serving as the incident command base for the Spokane Area Fires, housing firefighters and members of Incident Management Team 7 from California.
