SPOKANE, Wash. – The Mann-Grandstaff Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center announced on Tuesday that staff are preparing to resume standard operations at the campus, as supplies are being restocked and 27 veterans are being returned after they were evacuated to other hospitals amid the Spokane Area Fires.
“The medical center will be fully operational on Wednesday, with all clinics and services open,” a spokesperson for the medical center said. “Spokane VA’s outpatient clinics throughout the Lilac City and Spokane Valley, including the Vet Center, have remained open all week.”
Additionally, Spokane VA personnel will be holding informational meetings this week to discuss “emergency services and resources” for veterans impacted by the fires.
These informational meetings will be held at Shadle Park High School, from Tuesday through Thursday at 6 p.m., for those impacted by the Old Trails Fire, as well as at Mead High School, on Wednesday at 6 p.m., for those impacted by the Autumn Lane Fire.
