SHREVEPORT, La. — Shreveport native and three-time Olympian Kendrick Farris is giving back to his hometown through his “FEED” (Fueling Every Eater’s Development) summer tour.The Team USA weightlifter is partnering with local community centers to promote fitness, health, and mentorship for young people.Farris, who began his own journey through a grassroots weightlifting program in Shreveport, said the effort is about inspiring the next generation.“It’s been a collection of support, and I’m just giving it back,” he said.The program will visit SPAR community centers on select Fridays this summer, offering kids a chance to stay active, learn healthy habits, and build positive connections.Families can find participating locations and schedules through local SPAR programs here or through Farris' social media.
