Snail, Inc.SNAL saw bookings fall 19.6% year over year to $21.8 million in the second quarter of 2026. The decline was mainly caused by lower sales of ARK: Survival Evolved (“ASE”) and ARK: Survival Ascended (“ASA”), partly offset by contributions from Bellwright.
The bookings decline raises questions about consumer demand, particularly as the company’s mature ARK titles face shifting player preferences. Management noted that demand has been moving from ASE toward ASA and its downloadable content. Still, the six-month bookings decline was modest at 1.4%, suggesting the weakness may be more related to title maturity and product mix than a broad collapse in demand.
Snail also has several potential catalysts ahead. Bellwright’s console launch generated encouraging early engagement, while new ARK content launched in July following some schedule shifts. The company expects about $11 million of deferred revenues tied to Genesis Part 1 Ascended DLC to be recognized in the third quarter. Additional DLC releases are planned through the second half of 2026.
Thus, the bookings decline warrants attention, but it may be premature to conclude that consumer demand is losing steam. The performance of new content and upcoming releases will be critical in determining whether SNAL can reignite growth.
