The Mizzou women's golf team was 8-over par on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Women's Golf Championships in Carlsbad, California. The Tigers' rough day at the Omni La Costa course caused them to slip into 13th place, six spots down from their position following the previous round.Â
The Tigers shot 1-under par on the first day of the championship to sit in seventh place, one stroke behind Eastern Michigan and Arkansas in fifth, and six strokes off first-place USC.Â
After Saturday's play, Stanford leads at 12-under, followed by USC at 9-under and Oklahoma State at 7-under. Those are the only programs still in red numbers.Â
Ebba Liljeberg continues to lead the way for Mizzou. She was 1-over Saturday to climb three spots to No. 38 on the individual leaderboard. The next Tiger is Jade Zamora, who was +3 Saturday and sits in a tie for 46th place and with, among others, Melanie Walker, who shot 1-over Saturday. Adde Dobson is tied for 63rd at +3.
Two rounds remain in the tournament, with tee times for Sunday's third round yet to be announced.
