LONG ISLAND, N.Y. -- Sam Burns (-3) finished in second place at the 126th U.S. Open.

The Shreveport native was even par for the tournament and in a tie for sixth place at the start of his final round. He was seven shots back of the leader and eventual winner Wyndham Clark (-4) at Shinnecock Hills.

Burns shot a final round 67 (-3), while Clark shot a final round 73 (+3).

This is Burns' third straight top-ten finish and best result at the U.S. Open. He was T9 in 2024 and T7 in 2025.
