CALEXICO – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials announced they will install upgraded biometric technology at the Calexico East Port of Entry’s vehicle pre-primary inspection area.
Crews will begin the system upgrade Aug. 17, 2026. To minimize disruptions to daily operations, workers will complete most of the construction overnight.
During the installation, CBP encourages travelers to plan ahead as the construction may affect traffic flow.
Travelers can monitor wait times on CBP’s Border Wait Times website or by downloading the Border Wait Times mobile app on their smartphones.
