(The Center Square) – California Republicans slammed a court decision that supported changes to the language of the Proposition 39, a ballot measure requiring voter identification, but opponents of the measure praised Presiding judge Jennifer K. Rockwell's ruling.

Rockwell issued a decision on Thursday in California Superior Court in Sacramento siding with the California Department of Justice, writing in her decision that the ballot title, summary and label accurately describes the effect of the measure and are within the Attorney General’s discretion.
