BOSSIER CITY, La. — City officials issued a precautionary boil advisory for a section of the Bossier City water system following a water main break near 2061 E. Texas St.
The advisory affects customers along East Texas Street from Youree Drive to Benton Road.
Maintenance crews responded to the scene after a contractor working in the area struck a 12-inch water main, causing a blowout. Crews isolated the damaged main and expect to complete repairs by 8 p.m.
City officials recommend that affected residents boil water for one minute before drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or preparing food. Water remains safe for bathing, washing, and other non-consumptive uses.
Officials emphasized that the advisory is a precaution and not a mandatory order. Water samples will be submitted for testing, and the city will notify residents once the advisory is lifted.Â
