BOSSIER CITY, La. — The Bossier City Council recognized a special group of young athletes during its regular meeting Tuesday.
The 6-and-under Little League All-Star team was officially honored for winning the Louisiana state championship.
Players and coaches were presented to the public alongside city officials during the meeting.
Local officials noted that Louisiana has approximately 30,000 6-year-old boys, highlighting that the Bossier City squad stands out as the premier team in the state for their age group.
Coaches emphasized the team's performance, noting that the young players even completed double plays during their title run.
Team members received certificates and posed for photos with Mayor Chandler and council members.
Officials said they expect many of these athletes to return for future championship runs.
