Bossier City summer series connects families with first responders

BOSSIER CITY, La. — Bossier City is keeping families active this summer through its popular "Popsicles and Firehoses" event series. A collaboration between the city’s Parks and Recreation department and the local fire department, the initiative offers music, games, and the chance for children to explore fire trucks while enjoying free treats.

Organizers designed the series to foster community engagement, allowing residents to connect with first responders in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. The events are being held at parks throughout the city and will continue through July. Officials expressed hope that the program will remain a summer staple.
