HAUGHTON, La. — The Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office conducted its annual school resource officer training on Thursday at Haughton High School to prepare deputies and officers for potential active threats and emergency situations across the school system.
The annual training is designed to prepare SROs for a variety of scenarios that could occur within Bossier Parish schools. This year, Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office deputies worked alongside SROs to reinforce coordinated response efforts.
"Our main mission is to protect the educational environment of all the students in Bossier Parish," said Bossier Parish sheriff's Capt. Adam Johnson. "And we have to continuously do this type of training every single year."
Each year, the department selects a different school facility within the parish to host the active threat training.
