SHREVEPORT, La. — Deputies with the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a 38-year-old man following a two-vehicle hit-and-run crash Wednesday on West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.
Authorities responded to the crash in the 7600 block of West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop on May 27. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the driver of the at-fault vehicle, a silver Ford F-250, had fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
Deputies, along with officers from the Shreveport Police Department, canvassed the surrounding area in search of the driver. The suspect was ultimately located at the Blue Ridge Mobile Home Park.
The offender was identified as Braden Contario. During a pat-down search, deputies discovered suspected methamphetamine in Contario's pants pocket.
Contario was taken into custody and transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on charges that included hit-and-run driving, possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, an outstanding warrant through Bossier City, and several other traffic-related offenses linked to the crash.
