SHREVEPORT, La. — The Caddo Parish Commission met Monday in a work session to discuss a proposed ordinance that would finalize a land lease with the YMCA of Northwest Louisiana for a planned pickleball park project.
Ordinance 6636 would authorize the parish administrator to execute a lease for approximately 10.2 acres located at Lot 12 of the Camp Forbing Marketplace. Under the proposed terms of the agreement, the parish would pay an annual rent of $1.
The project is part of a comprehensive management agreement between the parish and the YMCA. Funding for the pickleball park was previously secured under Ordinance No. 6548 of 2025.
The proposed ordinance would grant the parish administrator authority to sign all necessary documents and contracts to execute the lease, provided they are approved by the parish attorney.
If approved by the commission at a later date, the ordinance would take effect immediately upon adoption.
