NATCHITOCHES, La. — The Natchitoches Parish Library’s most recent segment of its Children’s Summer Reading Program included a variety of animals presented by Safari Station. The show included fun facts about the diet, habitat, and behavior of reptiles, scorpions, ferrets, and rare insects. After the show, children were invited to handle the friendlier members of the creature cast.
The library will be closed Friday, June 19, for the Juneteenth holiday. While there will not be a weekly Children’s Summer Reading performance, other library activities include the following:
Children’s Finger Painting, for children ages 1 to 4, Tuesday, June 16, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Main Branch first floor.
LSU AgCenter’s Harvest of the Month, for adults, Tuesday, June 16, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Main Branch third floor.
Dino Scribble Art, for teens ages 12 to 17, Thursday, June 18, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Main Branch third floor.
Dino Scribble Art, for teens ages 12 to 17, Thursday, June 18, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Northeast Branch in Campti.
The Summer Reading Program will return June 24 and 25 with the Dinosaur Experience in Natchitoches and Campti. All library events are free to attend, and more information about upcoming programs and other offerings is available at Natlib.org.Â
